We all make choices. Sometimes we choose wisely, and sometimes we do not. We may look back and wish we had chosen different friends, a different path, or a different response in a hard moment.
But the Bible presents one choice that reaches beyond this life. It is the choice of how we respond to Jesus Christ.
Two men beside Jesus
When Jesus died on the cross, two criminals were crucified beside Him. Both saw Jesus. Both heard the crowd. Both were near the Savior. Yet they responded in two very different ways.
One mocked Jesus. The other recognized his own guilt, acknowledged that Jesus had done nothing wrong, and asked Jesus to remember him.
Jesus answered with a promise: “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43, NKJV
The same choice remains
One man rejected Jesus. One man turned to Him in faith. The difference was not religion, good deeds, money, or time to make up for the past. The difference was faith in Christ.
Jesus still receives sinners who come to Him. Eternal life is not earned. It is received by grace through faith in Him.
Your choice
You can ignore Jesus, reject Him, or put Him off. Or you can turn to Him, admit your need, and trust Him as Savior and Lord.
